“Juramento à sombra da republica” consiste em uma copia em desenho da pintura “O Juramento dos Horácios” de Jacques-Louis David. Na copia as espadas (elemento central da pintura) foram retiradas do desenho e impressas através de serigrafia no vidro da moldura do trabalho. Um refletor projeta uma luz na serigrafia no vidro, de tal modo que uma sombra das espadas é formada no desenho.  O refletor está ligado na moldura do trabalho, que é constituída de ferro, tornando-a em uma espécie de cerca elétrica.

"Oath in the shadow of the republic” consists of a drawing copy of the painting “Oath of the Horatii” by Jacques-Louis David. In the copy the swords (central element of the painting) were removed from the drawing and printed by silkscreen on the glass in the frame of the work. A reflector illuminates the serigraphy on the glass, in such a way that a shadow of the swords is projected on the drawing. The reflector is connected to the work frame, which is made of iron, so that if one of the wires connected to the frame is disconnected, the light goes out. While the work is on, the electric current that feeds the reflector passes through the frame constantly, making it a kind of electric fence.
